The Morning After by Stella M. Turk MBE

I listened closely to the rooks today.
They had such a lot to say!
It seemed that they were much perturbed
That there sleep had been disturbed
"Its just not fair or right
I was on the outside of the roost all night"
Whilst another said "Cor! I was too hot
Right in the middle of the bloomin lot"
A third said "I couldn’t sleep at all.
It was like a down-town music hall"
Yet another "There’s no cereal for breakast
And the dung is past its best
With all these vermifuges.
Its enough to give a crow the ruges".*

Stellas notes:

* I know there is no such wird as 'ruges'' but it is rookish expression
